Mission Statement

One of the most important courses run at the Academy, The Emergency First Responder (EFR) Course introduces divers to the extended range of land-based rescue skills. Now that candidates have a diverse skills set from completing the Open Water & Advanced Diver Programme, EFR extends knowledge of non-professional medical care for candidates to administer emergency care in life-threatening situations. The course is the foundation block for the PADI Rescue Diver Course and a great team building course for those going on expedition.

Academy students learn how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The candidate gains confidence in their ability to provide Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) when emergency situations arise though scenario practice. Secondary Care (First Aid) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Divers focus on first aid assessment through knowledge development, skill practice & emergency scenarios.
